Head Coach - Boys Varsity Basketball
Jeff Edwards began his Sabres coaching career as an assistant on the middle school team that won the state championship and finished 2nd overall at the East Coast Tournament. Jeff next became the JV Boys head coach and won both a State title and East Coast Nationals title with his team. Now Jeff is the South Wake Sabres head coach. He also has coached baseball for both the homeschool warriors and West Raleigh All Stars. Jeff works at Cisco Systems as part of the Cyber Security sales force. He has been married to Carrie for over 17 years and is blessed to be a father to Jacey, Chase and Colten. Jeff is looking forward to a great year and mentorship and fellowship with boys over the coming months.
Head Coach - Boys Middle School Basketball
Coach Wilson is the father of 2 boys and recently relocated from Minnesota. He and his wife have been married for 17 years and have lived in 5 different states. They began their homeschooling journey while in Indiana and have continued for the last 5 years. Coach Wilson is originally from the Greensboro, NC area and played collegiate basketball for St. Andrew’s University in Laurinburg, NC and received his MBA at Texas A&M. He has been coaching rec and travel basketball for the last 7 years and has played for over 40 years. Oliver truly believes that God has orchestrated his move and he is grateful for this opportunity. His family is very excited to be back home in NC and even more excited to be a part of the Sabres family.
Head Coach - Girls Middle School Basketball
David has his degree in Ministry from Kentucky Christian University. After college David has served as a youth Pastor and today is Lead Pastor and Planter and Relentless Church.
David has coached his three children: Mia, Jackson and Eli in various sports leagues from Upward to Rec. to AAU.
Head Coach - Girls JV Basketball
Javaux graduated from The Masters College in California with a degree in Physical Education. After a couple of short stints as a teacher Javaux joined the military in 1994 where she served all over the USA and one tour in Afghanistan, serving as a Senior Supply and Logistics NCO.
Javaux started her coaching career as the varsity coach at Cary Christian School in North Carolina while stationed there during her time of service. Under her direction Cary Christian went on to the state championships in 2010.
After retiring from the military In 2014, Javaux became assistant women’s basketball coach at Geneva College in Pennsylvania.
Coach Javaux is also the junior varsity coach for women’s volleyball at Grace Christian Academy in Cary, NC.
Coach Javaux resides in Holly Springs, NC.
Head Coach - Girls Varsity Basketball
Reginald Chapple, an Ohio native recently moved to North Carolina from the greater Chicago area. Chapple has ten years of experience coaching basketball. Chapple earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Valley Forge Christian College. He also earned a master’s degree in sports management from Southern New Hampshire University.
Coach Chapple began his career as an assistant athletic director and assistant coach at Lancaster Bible College. From there he became a head coach at a few colleges including his Alma Mater Valley Forge Christian College (now University of Valley Forge).
Chapple was blessed with the opportunity to basketball all through college. Now, he enjoys working with student athletes and impacting lives through sport. He views coaching as a ministry opportunity.
Coach Chapple has been married for 14 years. He and his wife Laquetta have four children.
Head Coach - Boys JV Basketball
Steven Rank is an IT consultant working with companies all over the world. He serves as a leader in the corporate environment, and those leadership skills have transitioned well with youth sports. Steve has been married for 20 years, and has two children with his wife Stacy. Steve played basketball in high school, and still plays actively today. He is looking forward to mentoring the boys both on and off the court this season.
